Music

I lead the Brooklyn based band The Crevulators. I write, sing, play guitar, bass, harmonica, banjo, and ukulele, and produce concerts. Our music is eclectic-americana, or what I like to call “Eclecticana!” The Crevulators play for charity, fun, and have performed extensively throughout the USA and Europe. I also play in an acoustic duo called Sons of Astro, a bluegrass trio called The Haystack Mountain Boys, play guitar and sing in the alt-country “hip-neck” band The Bootheel Boss Gobblers, as well as other side projects.

This tune was inspired by a phone conversation I had with Stephen Lovekin who was telling me about the Ken Burn's documentary on the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. It's one of the first tunes I ever wrote and one of my favorites. It was recorded in in 2002 in Barcelona with Dave Varriale on drums and Joe Louis on bass by a dude named Albertus. Copyright 1998.

Inspired by Los Lobos, this tune speaks of the ordeals of immigration and separation from loved ones across the border. A serious topic done with a humorous tone but also respect. Featuring Jamison Sevitts on trumpet, Jeff Gray on Sax, Ross Jacobs on drums & backing vox and Greg Hillje on bass & backing vox. Copyright 2003.

While in college, I founded the rock group The Lincoln Brigade. We were signed to Island records, home of Bob Marley, Tom Waits, and U2. We recorded an album and had some big moments, including opening for Oasis on their first US tour. Like Spinal Tap, we “spontaneously combusted” which I took as an opportunity to travel Europe.

In addition, I have worked in live event production for The New Jersey Performing Arts Center, The Waldorf Astoria, Yale University’s Summer School of Music and Art, The University of Oregon, Holly Morton Productions, and others. My experience has allowed me to work with a wide range of talent including Tommy Stinson, Oasis, Yo Yo Ma, Wynton Marsalis, Aretha Franklin, and many others.
